Technology Current Events: THE HOVERBOARD IS OUT

3D shape creation

3D Shape Making

Today Room 8 had to make a tetrahedron made out of the power of 2D triangles.

The most important thing to remember is that every single side / triangle needs to be equal.

It was very easy to make we just had to cut a perfect triangle out of card board cut it out then trace four triangles on the paper like this.

Fishing Methods Information Report

Fishing Methods Information Report

Today we are going to tell you about the modern fishing methods that happen these days.

One of the fishing methods that is being used is dredging. This fishing method is useful but harmful to the ocean floors. When Dredging, there is one big metal cage being dragged along the ocean floor with multiple metal teeth sinking into the burning sand. For example, there were millions of hoe marks in the garden for seeds to plant. This happens on the ocean floor but there is no plants to plant this is when the floor gets dented.

The second fishing practice that is being used these days is Gill Nets. This is one long fishing net put under the water at various lengths and has a signal to get animals to come. For example I’m a turtle and I hear a signal I go towards and swim straight into the net and get my head stuck.

The third fishing practise that is being used these days is called Bottom Trawling. This is when a big net that is dragged along ocean floor behind the boat well the net collects the sea creatures that are swimming near the net for example its like a bus driving over zombies and collecting them at the same time.

The last fishing method that we are about to discuss is traps and pots. This method can also be dangerous to other sea creatures that don't want or need to be caught. For example some traps want crabs and they catch big fish those fish are going to be killed and caught.

In this story we told you what fishing methods are being used these days and what bad things they do to the ocean and  to the people them self. And did you know that 82% of the world loves fishing, not for the delicious fish but for the fun out of it.

TPS Science Fair

Science fair

Today the TPS celebrated our topic of ‘discoveries’ with a science fair. All 10 classes shared their discoveries that they had made from throughout the term.

Two things I found really interesting to find out at the science fair were how robots could do anything for a human and they can go anywhere they want. The bad part about robots were how they can make humans to lazy. One other thing I really enjoyed was Jayden, Darwin and Kinis Ancient discoveries, I also learnt that the northern hemisphere was one of the places that had ancient materials on.

Here are some photos from the event.

As they say the man stil sits in his chair thinking back in the day when he escaped from a dragons lair. No one know if this is true because he was the only one who escaped he says but people are saying if you were the only one who escaped then were is a mark to say this is true and since then he wasn't seen. A couple of weeks later he was found dead in in river of the baltic seas then people started thinking that he might be telling the truth. Couple of days later they found three teeth found in hes body and a big burn mark on he left side of hes chest why didn't he tell.

Tamaki Primary’s Trip To North Head

By: T.J and Brodie
March 14th 2014

North head
Wednesday the 12th of march Tamaki Primary School Students
Went for a trip to North Head For a trip to North Head Without concern room 1, 3, 4, 6,8 and the year 7 boys from softball went to North Head.

This is a picture that shows the whole
school lined up against the disappearing gun.

First they traveled on bus through the auckland city and were screaming and singing all day long. Going past the wharf they saw the marin boat that they thought was a fairy when they did see it they were pretty disappointed in the marine boat that they saw. Moving on the ferry they were talking about they were wrong about it, it was as fast as a dolphin running away from sharks but as they were traveling they saw a tiny fish jump 2 3 and then none.

There at the wharf they turned the corner seeing horses big big as a shark and their at the field the student council students went and set up a game of duck duck goose with the younger year 1s.

After eating breaks and toilet breaks we walked up the mountain and it took like 45 minutes to get their and it was tiring. They had another eating break and they all went and saw the cannons just outside of the caves on the mountain. (north head)

After that we went to the furry and our legs was getting so sore we had to wait for the younger one go to the first furry but the year 7s & 8s had to wait but then a VIP fury came and while they came back to the west side and in the Special furry we can go up stairs and the boat was so fast we chaught up to the younger ones and then they went back to the school from the bus but the bus was so full they had to go on three bus and the third bus had only have 9 people on. When they all came back they were all sleeping in the bus and everyone was too lazy to go to class when they came back to school but they all went to class and as soon as they went to class they were all out of breath and we laded down.

Back home half the school weren't doing their chores till they were fit enough and they didn’t tired enough to do it thats what part of  my family done and that is what happened at the trip to north head for tamaki primary.
